Crews Rescue Hiker In 'Field Of Boulders'

PARK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A hiker is safe after she was rescued in Park County.

Teams worked early into the morning trying to reach the injured woman. The 27-year-old woman suffered serious injuries while hiking with a partner on Rosalie Peak. Rescue crews say she landed in a field of boulders.

Flight for Life could not land in the area. The Park County Search and Rescue team went in on foot and on snowmobile to find her. The hikers were in cell phone contact with authorities but snow and darkness made it difficult to reach them.

The woman was taken to the hospital around 2 a.m. Sunday. The rescue took about 12 hours.
