Getting Creative

So often I find myself going through my day, like the day before.

Eat the same breakfast – run through the same chores – drive the same way to work.

That's normal, right?

We have things we have to get done on a daily basis – deadlines and commitments we have to meet.

But every once in a while, do you ever have the desire to shake it up a bit, and do something different?

Right before the holidays, Jimmy asked if there was something I would like to do if I had the time.

I casually replied, "pottery class. I'd love to try my hand at something new."

Fast forward to now, and I'm wrapping up my first ever venture into making pottery.

Jimmy gave me a gift of 6 pottery classes at Denver's Cook Recreational Center.

So every Tuesday morning, I spend two hours learning something new.

I admit I need a gazillion more classes to be any good, but I sure have enjoyed it.

Do you lose yourself in books?

Cooking?

Gardening?

We all know how therapeutic it can be to focus so intently on a task.

This class is like that for me, it has allowed me to lose myself in the making of something, and in turn give my left brain a break.

Speaking of creativity – check out Suzanne McCarroll 's story when you get a chance.

It might inspire you to get in touch with your inner artist!
