BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A MediaNews Group Inc. subsidiary that publishes the Boulder Daily Camera has closed on the purchase of Longmont-based Lehman Communications Inc., which publishes daily newspapers in Longmont, Loveland and Canon City.

Prairie Mountain Publishing Co. Publisher Al Manzi confirmed to the Daily Camera on Tuesday that his company closed on the purchase for an undisclosed sum. The sale was announced in January.

Lehman publishes the Longmont Times-Call, Loveland Reporter-Herald, the Canon City Daily Record and the Colorado Hometown Weekly.

Prairie Mountain, based in Boulder, also publishes the Colorado Daily and 10 other newspapers along the Colorado Front Range.

MediaNews Group Chairman and CEO Dean Singleton has said Times-Call Editor Dean Lehman will keep his role and add the title of publisher, while his father, Ed Lehman, will become publisher emeritus.
