Snowboarder Dies After Hitting Tree At Eldora

DENVER (AP) - A 35-year-old Boulder man is dead after riding his snowboard into a tree at Eldora Mountain Resort near Nederland.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Department says the man was snowboarding with four friends when he hit the tree at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday. It says the group was in closed area within the resort's bounds.

The Denver Post reports the Boulder Coroner's Office will determine the cause of death.

The man's name was withheld pending notification of family.
