Man Shoots, Kills Himself In Cherry Creek Store

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police said a man who may have tried to rob a women's clothing store in Cherry Creek North Monday Morning shot and killed himself.

About 10:30 a.m. police received a call of shots fired inside Alicia, The Boutique at 3035 East 3rd Avenue. Investigators said the suspect walked in and showed a weapon. The store clerk ran away unhurt. Witnesses said they then heard a single gunshot was heard inside the store. When officers went inside, they found the suspect badly injured from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was taken to Denver Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are trying to figure out if there is any connection between the suspect and the store clerk, but say they do not appear to be related or know each other.

Police blocked off streets in the area while they investigated the shooting.
