Brighton Man Arrested In Child Abuse Case
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- A Brighton man was arrested in a child abuse case on Tuesday. The child in that investigation has since died, and the district attorney may decide to file additional charges.
Donald Scarlett, 31, was being held at the Adams County Detention Facility on suspicion of child abuse that resulted in the death of a toddler. He has since bonded out.
Scarlett was arrested at his home on South 22nd Ave. on suspicion of child abuse resulting in bodily injury after a 2-year-old boy was rushed to Platte Valley Medical Center.
The child was transported from PVMC to Children's Hospital in Aurora where he died Wednesday night.
The child's name was not released. It's not known what the relationship between the child and Scarlett was.
