Peterson Air Force Base Opens Voting Office

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. (AP) -- Air Force members can now register to vote at the new voting office at Peterson Air Force Base.

The office opened this week and will initially be staffed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Air Force officials say they hope to have it staffed full-time eventually.

Military personnel and civilians can both register there.

A law passed by Congress in 2009 requires all military personnel get the opportunity to register to vote and that absentee ballots be sent to overseas personnel in time for them to vote.
