Soldier From Colorado Killed In Afghanistan

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP/CBS4) - Two soldiers based in North Carolina have been killed in combat in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said Tuesday the soldiers died Saturday when their unit was attacked with an improvised explosive device.

They were 22-year-old Spc. Joshua R. Campbell of Bennett, Colo., and 26-year-old Spc. Shawn A Muhr of Coon Rapids, Iowa.

Both were assigned to the 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion of the 82nd Sustainment Brigade at Fort Bragg.

Muhr's family says he had returned home on leave just after Christmas and returned to Afghanistan on Jan. 12. He had joined the Army six years ago.

Campbell has been posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
