Plane Makes Hard Landing At Centennial Airport

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) - Fire officials say a small plane on a medical flight made an emergency landing at the Centennial airport after the landing gear for the aircraft's nose failed.

The plane skidded on its nose during the landing Tuesday night.

South Metro Fire and Rescue spokeswoman Becky O'Guin says the pilot of the King Air Twin Turbo prop coasted on the plane on its rear wheels for as long as possible before setting the front of the plane down.

She says six people were on board the flight from Cortez.

She told the Denver Post that two passengers were taken to a hospital "as a precaution."
