Hickenlooper Makes Final Cabinet Appointment

DENVER (AP) – Gov. John Hickenlooper has decided that Roxy Huber will remain executive director of the Department of Revenue through the end of July.

It was the final Cabinet appointment the governor gets to make for his administration. Only one, Ellen Golombek to head the Department of Labor and Employment, has been confirmed by the state Senate.

Huber was appointed by former Gov. Bill Ritter in 2007.

Spokesman Eric Brown says there are many pressing issues with the department, including problems with the computer system and budget changes. He said Huber will provide continuity while Hickenlooper searches for a permanent successor.

I just don’t understand why a person doing a good job needs to be replaced just because of politics. She agreed to stay on until some problems get completed, and then you are going to replace her with someone without any experience in Colorado Tax. I worked with Mrs Huber for years, and she is one of the most hard working people I know. just let her stay on until the end of your first term and then decide on her work history. K Fey
