DENVER (Denver Business Journal) – Discussion of a possible merger by owners of Colorado’s two biggest papers — The Denver Post and The Gazette of Colorado Springs — is the subject of a Gazette report.

The Post is owned by Denver-based MediaNews Group Inc., which announced a leadership shakeup Tuesday (Denver Business Journal report here) after international hedge fund Alden Global Capital bought a significant stake in the company, and whose founder and CEO, William Dean Singleton, said he is giving up day-to-day control.
