John Ashcroft To Speak In Fort Collins In March
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft plans to visit Colorado in March.
He's scheduled to speak March 29 in Fort Collins as part of a series on courageous leadership sponsored by a group called Character Fort Collins.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports that the group said Ashcroft will challenge people to "strive toward the highest levels of character and integrity."
Ashcroft served as attorney general under President George W. Bush and helped write the Patriot Act. He won praise for refusing to reauthorize a controversial federal surveillance program from his hospital bed in 2004.
