Police Believe Aurora Man Killed Partner, Himself

AURORA, Colo. (AP) – Police in the Denver suburb of Aurora say they believe a 32-year-old man drowned his common-law wife and then hanged himself.

The Arapahoe County coroner identified the couple Tuesday as Art Medina and 23-year-old Maria Duron.

Their bodies were found in their residence Saturday when police were asked to check on their welfare. Aurora detective Robert Friel said police consider it a murder-suicide.

Friel says the couple’s children are staying with other family members. He declined to say how many children they had.
