MONTROSE, Colo. (AP) - Gov. John Hickenlooper is expected soon to appoint a new prosecutor in the judicial district based in Delta County, replacing the former prosecutor who’s facing criminal charges.
Eric Brown, Hickenlooper’s spokesman, told the Montrose Daily Press Monday that the governor plans to choose one of three candidates by week’s end to replace Myrl Serra.
Serra resigned earlier this month to make way for a new prosecutor in the 7th Judicial District. He faces criminal charges for allegedly demanding sexual favors from women in his office. He denies the charges.
Serra was arrested again last month on allegations of harassing one of his accusers and violating his bond.
