DENVER (CBS4) – People are learning some basic self-defense techniques for free. Tiger Kim’s Academy in Denver is a martial arts school and it’s offering free self defense classes once a month.

Those who attend the classes are encouraged to make a $5 donation. The money is given to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Colorado.

The classes are in response to recent bullying and assault crimes targeting gays in the community.

Tiger Kim’s is located on Colfax Avenue in Denver. They have free self defense classes scheduled for the next two months. Everyone is welcome to attend.
