Cars Slide On Icy Roads, Causing Numerous Crashes
COLORADO SPRINGS (CBS) - Insurance adjusters were busy on Friday in the Denver and Colorado Springs area after numerous crashes on icy streets.
The hill near South Carefree and Powers in Colorado Springs proved to be a major headache for drivers late in the day on Thursday. Vehicles had a tough time trying to get up the hill and ended up sliding back down, causing a massive pileup.
At least 20 vehicles were involved in the chain reaction wreck, which was captured by Ian Smith and Nathan Anthony in a home video seen below.
In Denver the hill at Hazel Court and Cedar Avenue proved to be another dangerous spot. In the image from CBS4 video captured below you can see an SUV zooming out of control as onlookers rush to get out of the way.
