Shoppers Continue To Flock To Stores After Holiday

DENVER (CBS4) - Shoppers were out in full force in the Denver area on the day after Christmas snatching up deals.

This year's holiday season is the best retailers have seen since 2007, and for shoppers like Christine Fitchett it's been all about -- and continues to be all about -- the deals.

"I told my husband when I woke up this morning and saw the Target ad 'Let's go. Let's hit the stores before they get really crowded," she told CBS4's Michelle Griego.

Most stores offered good bargains before Christmas but some of the best deals come after the holiday.

Joshua Garcia told CBS4 he took advantage of money his mom gave him for Christmas with some purchases on Sunday.

"I bought a Blu-ray player for my living room because my old DVD player went out. It's time to upgrade. And I bought a flatscreen TV for my room.

Electronics may be selling fast right now but if shoppers go down any holiday aisle they are bound to see big markdowns and lots of people stocking up for next year.

"We have pretty good sales going, after Christmas sales, and of course the clearance so it's probably been heavier traffic than normal but not as bad as a little bit before Christmas," Target spokeswoman Caitlin Weber told CBS4.
