DILLON, Colo. (CBS4) - A tow truck driver has been ticketed for Tuesday’s accident that shut down I-70 for hours. The Colorado State Patrol said Floyd Mooseburger is charged with careless driving.
Mooseburger was driving a heavy tow truck that hit a patch of ice, then rear-ended a semi.
That semi was hauling about 40,000 pounds of explosive gel. A small amount spilled onto the highway.
I-70 was closed just east of Dillon for hours while hazardous materials crews cleaned up the spill.
