Author Of Pedophilia Guide In Fla. Jail

BARTOW, Fla. (AP) - A Colorado man who wrote a how-to guide for pedophiles has been booked into a central Florida jail.

Phillip Greaves of Pueblo was booked into the Polk County jail around 11 a.m. Tuesday. Officials say his first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

The 47-year-old was arrested Monday in Colorado. He is charged with violating Florida's obscenity law, a third-degree felony. If convicted, he faces a maxiumum of five years in state prison.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd claims jurisdiction because Greaves sold and mailed a copy of his book to undercover deputies who had written the author requesting a copy.

Florida's obscenity law prohibits the "distribution of obscene material depicting minors engaged in conduct harmful to minors."
