Perrish Cox To Keep Playing Despite Charges

DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Broncos say they will keep playing cornerback Perrish Cox despite his arrest on charges of sexual assault.

Cox could get life in prison if convicted. The charges include Class 3 and Class 4 felonies involving a helpless victim. Other details of the case remain sealed.

A number of high-profile media organizations are suing to get the rest of the case opened.

Broncos interim coach Eric Studesville says the new information doesn't change the Broncos' current stance on the rookie.

"It's not for me to judge that. My position here is to continue to gather all the facts and support Perrish in what's going on. But to pass judgment is not my place," Studesville said.

Cox is free on $50,000 bail and played in the Broncos' loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

He could be suspended up to four games by the NFL no matter what happens in the legal case.
