DENVER (AP) – John Hickenlooper isn’t sure whether he’ll move into the governor’s mansion when he takes office next month.

He and his wife are weighing what’s best for their 8-year-old son Teddy. He’s got 16 other children to play with on his block. The mansion, meanwhile, is surrounded by high-rises and businesses and visitors must be buzzed in.

Hickenlooper told The Denver Post that one option might be living at the mansion during the week and returning to their Park Hill home on weekends.

Gov. Bill Ritter and his family moved into the mansion but Gov. Bill Owens, didn’t.

The mansion has a marble wall imported from Italy and a piano signed by Liberace but it doesn’t come with any help. The first family must do their own shopping, cooking and cleaning.

I grew up in Park Hill on 22nd and Grape in the 60′s & 70′s. We had over 30 neighborhood friends who played all day and into the night. I remain friends with many of them to date. What beautiful memories I have and hold dear to my heart. You couldn’t pick a more “Rockwell-esk” way of life. Guess my vote would be to stay on the HIll.
