Fort Collins Man Shot By Police Identified

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- A man shot and killed by police in Fort Collins has been identified.

The Larimer County coroner said Friday that 49-year-old Raymond Frederick Ault of Fort Collins died of multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

Police say Ault was wanted for escaping from community corrections and officers went to an apartment complex where they heard he was staying on Wednesday night.

Police spokeswoman Rita Davis said that when the officers made contact with the man, he made a threatening movement toward the officers and they fired at him.

The officers are on paid leave as police investigate what happened.
