RTD: Man Killed Trying To Beat Light Rail On Foot
DENVER (CBS4) - A man has died near the Alameda light rail station Tuesday afternoon.
Initial reports are that a southbound light rail train hit the man on the tracks north of Alameda Station.
Scott Reed with RTD said the man was trying to cross the tracks in a fenced-in area and beat the light rail train when he was struck. Reed said the light rail driver hit the brakes but couldn't stop in time.
The light rail was shut down at Alameda Station and buses were used to get people around the area. The light rail has since started running again.
