Accuser's Family Shares New Evidence In DPD Suit

DENVER (CBS4) - A CBS4 investigation has sparked Denver Police to take a closer look at a case of alleged police brutality.

CBS4 first broke the story about a man who says he was beaten by a Denver policewoman.

The family of the accuser has now turned over new evidence in their lawsuit against police.

Most of the cell phones from the April party where the incident occurred were confiscated but video from one phone shows the officers in an apparent dispute with the alleged victim, Rohit Mukarjee.

The man claims that Officer Abby Dorn jumped on him and pinned him to the floor while another officer twisted his arm so he couldn't move. Pictures of the man after the alleged attack show bruising around his face and neck.

Mukarjee's father says his son was helpless in the situation.

"One of the officers -- Officer Dorn -- jumps on him and pins him down to the floor with a forearm while the other officer -- the male officer -- got hold of his arm twisted so he could not move," Tom Mukharjee said.

That officer, Abby Dorn, is a fitness model. She has also appeared on the TV show American Gladiators.

Seven of those partygoers were arrested but those charges were later dropped.
